Client Collaboration Spotlight: Penn Carey Law team helps build Lottery self-scheduling

by Hannah Kelly on

Thank you to Joanna Craig, Cailin Yasunaga, and Remy Cahn of Penn Carey Law for your partnership! This team has been deeply involved in Flo Recruit's Interview Management development, contributing ideas and feedback to features like student self-scheduling for Lottery programs. Let's explore how this request came to life.

Step 1: The Client Vision

The process began with Penn Carey Law’s vision for a smoother experience for students and administrators. Joanna, Cailin, and Remy identified the need for a student self-scheduling feature to enhance the flexibility of their Lottery programs. Their insight was rooted in their deep understanding of law student recruitment logistics and the desire to streamline processes for all involved.

Step 2: Capturing the Need

Flo Recruit’s Customer Success and Account Management duo, Annie Cox and Kristin Payne, listen closely to all client requests. They asked questions and logged detailed notes about how the feature could address law school needs. Their role was crucial in making sure the voice of the client remained central throughout the process.

Step 3: From Notes to Roadmap

Next, Senior Product Manager Danielle Jones took the baton. She analyzed the client’s feedback and assessed how self-scheduling could fit into the broader Lottery roadmap. Balancing priorities is no small feat, but Danielle ensured this feature earned a spot, thanks to Penn's and other clients' compelling cases.

Step 4: Designing the Experience

Once the feature was on the roadmap, Flo Recruit’s design team, Nick Hughes and Andy Carberry, got to work. They created an intuitive flow for student self-scheduling, focusing on simplicity and ease of use. From wireframes to polished prototypes, every design decision revolved around ensuring a seamless experience for both students and administrators.

Step 5: Building and Testing

The final step brought in our Engineering and Quality Assurance teams. Greg Lyons and Kaya Wattley tackled the heavy lifting on development, transforming the design into a functioning feature. Meanwhile, Taylor and Kevin rigorously tested every scenario to ensure the feature was robust, reliable, and ready for high volume use.

Launching the Future of Lottery Programs

When the self-scheduling feature finally launched, it was a win not just for Penn Carey Law but for all Flo Recruit users. The collaborative efforts of our team, guided by the Penn team's thoughtful input, created a feature that empowers students to take control of their schedules while lightening the administrative load for schools.

A Grateful Collaboration

We’re grateful to Joanna, Cailin, and Remy for being such thoughtful partners throughout the Lottery self-scheduling build, among many other features and product improvements. Their feedback, patience, and insight shape an interview platform that impact the careers of thousands of law students.
